Here is a photo of a view of May Pen on top of my Grandparents building. They live right across the shop where I work. As you can see its not all palm trees and beach.
Here is a native dish in Jamaica, Pumpkin soup (or dumpling soup as my family likes to call it). Its made up from Jamaican pumpkin, yams, potatoes, stew beef, salted pig tail (mmmmmm...), spices, a scotch-bonnet pepper (very hot)and very large hand rolled flour dumplings the more the better (hence the name). Lets say if you want to lose weight don't eat this soup. My grandfather made it when he heard I was coming down. He knows its one of my favorite dishes.....
Here is view of traffic in May Pen.
Well that's it for now. Until the next post.....

Preparing to leave to JA
Ok. The problem when your leaving to a country with alot of relatives is all the crap you have to bring for them. So on top of all the stuff I had to bring for relatives I also had to pack for 3 months just in case. BTW the wife would be proud I packed 8 pairs of shoes (I counted slipper and sandals as shoes :) ). Did I mention I'm only limited to 2 bags at a max of 50 lbs each and one of the bags is my golf bag. So I was down to one suitcase for all my crap and my relatives crap. I felt like I was on Apollo 13 trying to get 60 amps down to 12 amps. Well I did it both bags were at there max and lets say my carry-on bags where a little heavier than normal. So I arrived safely all bags intact and no problems with customs.
Hello all......
Hello All!
Its been about a week since I left for Toronto to Jamaica. Before you start saying how lucky I am just know that I am here to help my parent out and If all goes well take care of things while they go on vacation ..... ok ..ok and maybe enjoy the weather and play golf. So I might be here for 3 to 11 weeks, it all depends if I can survive here that long and if my parents are comfortable leaving me here on my own. That why I thought about starting a blog about my experience here. Who knows where this may lead too. So without further adieu here we go..........
